Roy George Etters was born April 17, 1922, in Exeland, Sawyer County, Wisconsin, to George and Kate (Taylor) Etters.

He enlisted on January 10, 1943 and was a B-17 pilot during WWII assigned to 401st BG 613th BS (picture taken on 4 Nov 1944). Lieutenant Etters received the air medal and an oak leaf cluster while stationed at a Flying Fortress base in England; he mustered out on November 24, 1945.

Lieutenant Etters married Phyllis Jane Kelsey from Barrington during his basic flight training on February 25, 1943, in Montgomery, Alabama.

He made a career in real estate in the Barrington area.

Lieutenant Roy Etters died on March 29, 1995, in Barrington, and is buried with his wife and parents at Evergreen Cemetery.
