The 180-seat Meeting Room and 80-seat Zimmerman Room are used primarily for library programs. Local not-for-profit organizations whose aims are educational, cultural, or civic in nature may apply for free use of these spaces by calling the Administration Office at 847-382-1300 x 215.

The Zimmerman Room has recently been upgraded with the latest, state-of-the-art "Smart Room" technology. We are pleased to announce that the Zimmerman Smart Room is equipped with:

  • WebEx web conferencing software and webcam
  • Microsoft Office
  • Skype
  • Built-in screen, overhead projector, and speakers
  • Full array of microphones for speakers/presenters/instructors
  • Apple display adapters for latest-generation Apple devices
  • Touch screen console for lectern computer access, as well as lighting, volume, and camera controls
  • Cable TV and Blu-Ray player

This software and equipment allows Smart Room users to host, record, and email meetings or training sessions, or broadcast them live to remote participants via video- and audioconference. Skype allows for free videoconferencing with other Skype users on remote computers. Contact us with any other questions about using the Smart Room for your organization.

Reserving a meeting room

Meeting room reservations are made on a rolling twelve-month calendar basis. The availability of rooms may be checked on the online calendar.
